SILVER CUP PODIUM ON DEBUT IN BLANCPAIN SPRINT CUP
The Reiter Young Stars duo of Australian Caitlin Wood and Fin Marko Helistekangas had a successful first round of the GT3 Blancpain Sprint Cup at Misano claiming a podium in the Silver Cup category in the main race on the Sunday. The pair had an eventful qualifying race on Saturday night that unfortunately they didn't finish so to come back the next day with a podium was very rewarding.
This is both Caitlin and her teammate Marko's first year in GT3 and The Blancpain GT Series, making it a year for gaining experience and learning off the high caliber drivers within the field.
Wood says "Misano was always going to be a tough round for us as we both didn't know what to expect, but to come out of it with a podium in the Silver Cup class on the Sunday is extremely positive and now that we have the monkey off our back I am confident we can keep improving and moving forward at each of the rounds this year. I am really enjoying the challenge and working with Reiter Engineering, there is so much knowledge and experience in this team and I am just trying to soak it all up! I know that we need to keep putting in a lot of hard work to get ourselves up to the level of all the pro's but I am always learning and trying to improve to keep moving forward".
